A two dimensional cartoon
October 28, 2015So I tried salvia for the first time tonight. My friend had picked up a small container of the purple sticky salvia 60x (wowee!) and after realizing that we couldn’t smoke that in a hookah, we went back and got a large bag of just the dried salvia leaves, which, of course, are sold for “incense use only”. First, we made a water bong and also packed the hookah with the big leaves and some 60x sprinkled on top. At first, I took two enormous hits from the bong, and then immediately took about 4-5 hits of the hookah. Big Mistake!
When it first started to hit me, all I noticed was that both of my eyes felt like they were going to fall out of my face, as if they were being pulled downward. Then my mouth felt like it was also being pulled down. I sat down and I think I must have blacked out for a minute because the next thing I knew, I was tripping like nothing before. (Remember this was my first time using salvia and I’ve tried pot 2 or 3 times in the past, so this was my first time hallucinating).
Instantly when I turned my head, I realized that I was on a completely different plane of consciousness. I didn’t know what the hell was going on at first. I felt like I just woke up in an unfamiliar cartoon world and I didn’t understand what anything was. I looked around and tried to talk to my two friends who were doing it with me, but I couldn’t form sentences. Everything I said, as well as everything my friends said made no sense at all.
I felt really uncomfortable and worried and I didn’t think I would ever go back to feeling normal. I couldn’t communicate with anything and I started walking around to try and find a way out. I got really hot and was pouring sweat. The other two people in the room were the only things that seemed familiar, but everything else felt like I was in a two dimensional cartoon. I sat down in front of a fan to cool off and then I started to get freezing cold, but I didn’t want to get up because I was scared. All I could remember thinking is that I wanted the trip to end.
After a few minutes, I could start to rationalize thoughts, but I could only concentrate on them for a second or two. I tried to reassure myself that it was all a trip and it would be over soon, but I felt really tingly (almost painfully so) and I felt like I couldn’t trust my surroundings. Eventually I laid down on a couch and fell asleep. When I woke up, everything was fine. I had no after effects.
What I’ve learned: For your first time, NEVER use such a high concentration, and only try a little at first until youre sure you are feeling the effects of the first hit before you try a second. My two friends had pleasant experiences, but I was scared out of my mind. I’m not sure if I’ll try it again any time soon, but I’m glad I got through it and now I have another experience to add to my life!
